About

A physician's life shaped by patients, classrooms, and starting lines.

Dr. Matthew Corcoran is a board-certified endocrinologist who trained at the University of Chicago, where he completed his internal medicine residency, endocrinology fellowship, and served as assistant professor of medicine before bringing his practice — and his passion for sport — east.

In 2007 he founded Diabetes Training Camp, a program devoted entirely to diabetes, fitness, exercise and sport. What began as a small camp in Allentown has grown into a program that hosts adult camps, teen boot camps, and virtual sessions reaching people with diabetes across the country.

He has served as team physician for the pioneering Triabetes, Team Type 1, and Team Wild triathlon teams; lectured at the Endocrine Society, ACSM, AMSSM, and AADE; and published in the Journal of Athletic Training and the Oxford Textbook of Clinical Endocrinology. In 2016 he was named one of twelve "People to Know" by the American Diabetes Association.
